I’m Dorothy, a West Michigan native who has been capturing the stories of individuals, families and businesses through photography for more than 16 years. To me it’s more than the poses — its real life.
My entire life has been filled with creativity and curiosity. My mother has always been my greatest inspiration and taught me at a young age to be a divergent thinker, see the beauty in simple things and never give up. She encouraged artful play and showed me the importance of expressing myself and my ideas in new ways.
I have been lugging a camera and tripod around with me since I was a teenager, but it wasn’t until my first daughter was born that photography became what it is for me today. Connecting with so many amazing people over the last decade and a half has been one of my greatest joys. I have many hobbies but my favorite thing to do is spend quality time with my husband and daughters. My family is my everything. They’ve made me who I am today.
When it comes to my photography, I love what I do and I put much time and thought into each and every session. I pay attention to the details and am always ready to improvise to be sure that I capture a beautiful moment. I’m very laid-back and flexible about doing what works best for you. After all, I want you to feel comfortable working with me and confident that you’ve chosen the right photographer to preserve some of the most meaningful moments of your life.
